Interior inspiration.
Your taste, in pictures.

Six moods. New combinations.
And all the room to make them your own.

No fixed rules

A style is a beginning.
Not an end point.

Perhaps you love the calm of Japandi, but wouldn’t want to do without a striking lamp. Or industrial appeals to you, as long as there is softness to balance it. Here you’ll discover how a mood comes about: through the relationship between shapes, materials and the space you leave in between.

The Reefs photographs show individual designs in their setting. The product selections and combinations below are editorial ideas, not a record of everything in the picture.

01 / Japandi

Calm, with something to look at.

No less personal. Just fewer distractions.

Reefs Interior Charlie · fabric upholstery in natural
Charlie · fabric upholstery in natural

Japandi starts with leaving space. Not every corner needs filling, and not every material needs to ask for attention. A light fabric, a wooden top and a lamp with a clear silhouette are often enough to set the direction. Choose the piece the room revolves around first, then let everything else respond to it. That is how calm emerges without the interior feeling bare: the differences live in the grain, the texture and the curve of an armrest.

In the Reefs collection, Charlie and its natural fabric upholstery give the table a soft foundation. A ceramic top with a travertine look, as on Stonham, adds a different surface within the same light mood. For more warmth, solid acacia wood is a natural choice. Keep large areas of colour close together and use metal as a fine line, in chair legs or lighting, for instance. The beige Hover is one possible addition. Treat this selection as a starting point rather than a fixed set: one deliberate contrast makes the whole more interesting than matching everything exactly.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Repeat one light shade in chair and lamp, but vary the surfaces: fabric next to metal.

  2. 02

Leave space around a characterful table; don’t automatically add an extra cabinet or side table beside it.

  3. 03

Pair a quiet wall with one visible wood grain rather than several bold patterns.

02 / Scandinavian

Light you want to hold on to.

An open mood, even when it gets dark outside.

Reefs Interior Stonham · round dining table in a light dining room
Stonham · round dining table in a light dining room

A Scandinavian interior feels clear and approachable. That is not only down to light colours, but also to the way furniture sits in the room. A round table keeps sightlines open and softens the dining area. Slender bases leave the floor visible; soft upholstery stops all that airiness from feeling cool. So don’t start with an all-white palette, but with the balance between light, form and the places where you want to sit comfortably.

Stonham round combines a ceramic top with a travertine look and a wooden pedestal base. Its light appearance connects easily with a fabric chair such as Vera or Charlie. Alternate smooth surfaces with a visible textile structure and add a small accent in a muted green or blue. That accent doesn’t have to be a piece of furniture: a cushion, a bowl or an artwork can be enough. Spread the lighting across the room, so the dining table isn’t the only illuminated island. A table lamp such as Turn Around can create a second, more intimate point of light.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Choose a round table when circulation and sightlines matter; check the space behind the chairs as well.

  2. 02

Introduce colour in one small place and let it return subtly elsewhere, not on every large piece.

  3. 03

Add a lower light source next to the one above the table, so the room stays pleasant without ceiling light.

03 / Industrial

Strong lines. A softer counterpoint.

Metal gives structure; what you place beside it sets the warmth.

Reefs Interior Trent · a low metal TV cabinet in gunmetal
Trent · a low metal TV cabinet in gunmetal

Industrial living doesn’t have to be dark or heavy. Its strength lies in visible construction, clear volumes and contrast between materials. A low metal piece can anchor a room, while wood and textiles keep it inviting. Prefer one convincing dark element to a collection of small black accents. The eye gets a resting point and the room keeps its coherence, even when the other furniture is lighter in colour.

Trent in gunmetal is exactly such an anchor: a low metal TV cabinet that pairs well with wood tones. The acacia Shelford carries that warm material into the hallway; Wave combines mango wood with a metal frame. Look not only at colour but also at proportion. Next to a wide, low piece, an upright lamp or a taller plant brings balance. Add a generous rug or an upholstered seat to interrupt the hard lines. Keep decoration restrained and choose objects that add something in scale, rather than filling the whole top with small accessories.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Place a dark cabinet against a lighter wall; the silhouette stays legible without weighing down the room.

  2. 02

Repeat the metal of a base in one other detail, and bring in wood or fabric alongside it.

  3. 03

Above a wide, low piece, let one larger wall object do the work instead of many small frames.

04 / Retro

Rounded forms, without going back in time.

A characterful seating area that is entirely of today.

Reefs Interior Sam · a generous armchair with soft, full forms
Sam · a generous armchair with soft, full forms

Retro here is not a reconstruction of a particular decade. It is a preference for full shapes, tactile fabrics and furniture that dares to deviate a little. A wide armchair with an enveloping presence can set the tone; the rest doesn’t need to repeat that gesture. A plainer table or a fine metal frame is precisely what lets a generous seat keep its character. That way, all the rounded volumes don’t merge into one heavy mass.

With its broad, deep seat, Sam is a natural starting point for such a relaxed corner. According to the product information, several fabrics are available, including bouclé, teddy, velvet and ribcord; the look differs per version. Combine a pronounced texture with a calmer rug and a smoother tabletop. The organic Fairfield coffee tables bring a second shape into the seating area, while a Turn Around table lamp adds a smaller circular line. If you want colour, think of a muted rust or olive in the surrounding textiles. Do give the largest piece room: even an inviting seating area needs a clear walkway and a place for your glass.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Choose one generous rounded seat and place a slimmer object beside it; not every piece needs the same volume.

  2. 02

Combine tactile upholstery with a calmer rug, so the textures don’t compete.

  3. 03

Let a small accent colour return in art or textiles, while the large furniture surfaces stay calm.

05 / Luxe & modern

The difference lies in proportion.

A striking form doesn’t need busy surroundings.

Fairfield · two organic coffee tables with a ceramic travertine look

A luxurious, modern interior is not about collecting as many eye-catching pieces as possible. It comes about when scale, material and light offer just enough contrast. An organic coffee table can look almost sculptural next to a quiet sofa. A lamp with a silhouette of its own stands out more against a simple backdrop. Let one or two designs carry the attention and keep the space between them deliberately open. That restraint gives details the chance to be seen.

Fairfield combines ceramic with a travertine look and a wooden base. The set of two tables lets you introduce different heights and volumes into the seating area without adding a row of separate side tables. Stonham Danish oval pairs a light ceramic appearance with a black metal base. Choose fabrics that soften the contrast. For lighting, Hover can form a clear composition above the dining table, or Turn Around a smaller accent on a cabinet. Glass in your own accessories can offer an airy counterweight to dense materials. Dose sheen and colour carefully: a single bright surface often works better than many competing accents.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Cast one clear lead: a sculptural lamp or a striking table, with calm in its immediate surroundings.

  2. 02

Set a smooth ceramic surface beside fabric upholstery and add no more than one glossy accent.

  3. 03

Pull a set of coffee tables slightly apart so each shape can speak; keep the walkway clear.

06 / Warm & natural

Wood as a beginning, not the whole story.

Warmth emerges when materials complement each other.

Reefs Interior Newent · Danish oval dining table in solid acacia wood
Newent · Danish oval dining table in solid acacia wood

A natural-feeling interior doesn’t have to consist entirely of wood or beige tones. It actually becomes richer when a distinct wood grain sits next to a calmer surface. Start with one large wooden piece and see what the room still needs: softness, a lighter colour or a finer silhouette. The grain already provides movement. Add patterns and accessories everywhere on top of that, and the calm you wanted from the material disappears.

Newent is a generous dining table in solid acacia wood, with a Danish oval top and a broad pedestal base. A fabric chair such as Vera offers a soft counterpoint. Wave shows, with mango wood and metal, how warmth can also live in a smaller piece. Different woods may coexist; connect them through a recurring tone or a similar line rather than searching for a perfect colour match. A ceramic object, a calm rug and a little greenery can soften the transition between pieces. Light from several directions helps reveal the grain and keeps a large piece from reading as a dark block.

How to create this mood

  1. 01

Let the most pronounced grain appear on one large piece and keep adjacent surfaces calmer.

  2. 02

Connect two wood tones with a shared textile colour rather than hunting for a near-identical wood.

  3. 03

Break up the volume of a wooden table with upholstered chairs and a light lamp above it.

Mix & Match / the dining area

Three pieces.
One good conversation.

Start with the table, soften with the chair and give the lamp a role of its own. A combination doesn’t have to come from one family.

A round top gives the dining area a soft core. Charlie adds fabric upholstery; the elongated Hover brings a different line above. Measure the lamp not only against the table, but also against the space around it.

Material stories

Look at the difference.

Colour connects. Texture and shape make it personal.

Wood

A grain that plays its part.

Solid acacia on Newent, mango wood on Wave: wood brings a visible rhythm to a piece of furniture. Choose calmer surrounding materials when the grain draws a lot of attention. Different wood tones don’t need to be identical to work together.

Ceramic

A calm surface, a different line.

Stonham and Fairfield feature ceramic with a travertine look, not solid travertine. The light veining pairs well with wood and soft upholstery. Look at the outline too: round, Danish oval and organic each give the room a different rhythm.

Textile

Softness you can see.

Fabric makes a metal base less strict and a dining area more inviting. From the natural upholstery of Vera to the various fabric options for Sam: choose not just a shade, but a texture that adds something next to your other materials.

Metal

From fine line to solid volume.

Metal isn’t always dark or industrial. The beige frame of Turn Around draws an airy silhouette; Trent in gunmetal a sturdy horizontal volume. Use the same material at different scales to create coherence without repetition.
